Reducing the timber to fine sheets of veneer is an amazing process because you discover theincredible natural patterns of the wood grain, which emerge on each slice. Every piece of veneerthat we use on our C40 grinders is considerately chosen and carefully cut to size. Trees are such avaluable natural resource, so it’s not only important to responsibly source them, we feel it’s ourduty to do every piece justice and make sure every grinder shows the beauty of the wood!Our passionate crafts- men and women carefully laminate the veneer onto the stainless steelgrinder body, before it is meticulously sanded and polished with a natural hard wax oil. The latteris repeated several times in order to get the desired smooth and shiny surface.
It’s a particularly difficult process when you’re working with hard woods, but for us the result istotally worth it. Grinding coffee with the Comandante C40 Nitro Blade Grinder elevates the concept of “making coffee from scratch” to a whole new level. The 100% natural oak wood knob fits perfectly in your hand; the cool, unyielding stainless steel body with its reinforced grip as you turn the handle. The accessible grind setting dial on the bottom of the burrs is within easy reach.
The high-alloyed, high-nitrogen stainless steel burrs and double axle bearings guarantee absolute particle uniformity, up to espresso or even the powder-fine Turkish grind, unlike other hand grinders. The Comandante C40 Nitro coffee grinder includes a clear and a brown jar for grinding into and storing beans. The MK4: What’s new
The MK4 is the latest updated version of Comandante’s C40 nitro-blade hand grinder. In fact, the MK4 has been designed with complete backwards compatibility, so all parts are interchangeable with the MK3 model. Fans of the MK3 will find a comforting familiarity in the design and performance while enjoying some amazing new features.
New ‘indestructible’ polymer bean jar is lighter and more durable than the glass one (also included). The polymer jars are consistently weighted and so better to use in brewing competitions. They also boast heat insulation properties so can be used as a cup if you’re brewing coffee on the go!
Freshly designed axel frame means there is now no chance of beans getting stuck in the engine frame
Smaller box with improved protection and brand new manual; now completely made from sustainable materials.
